The single biggest input into this grass seed calculator isn't the area, it's the seeding rate, and that number changes a lot depending on which grass you're planting. Cool-season grasses, grown across the northern two-thirds of the US, and warm-season grasses, grown across the South, don't just have different climates, they have very different seed sizes and germination habits that drive very different rates.
